When you use Read Hero’s systems, applications or platforms, we may collect:

As a Read Hero Teacher, you may have access to personal data relating to students and parents/guardians.

You are expected to:

• use such information only for authorised Read Hero purposes
• keep such information confidential;
• access only information necessary for your authorised duties
• not copy or share such information without authorisation
• not use such information for personal or commercial purposes
• follow Read Hero’s applicable privacy, security and operational procedures

Your obligations relating to confidential information are also governed by the Read Hero Teacher Non-Disclosure & Confidentiality Agreement (NDA).

6. Disclosure of Personal Data

Read Hero may disclose personal data where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Depending on the circumstances, personal data may be disclosed to:

• Read Hero employees and authorised management
• authorised trainers, operations or quality-control personnel
• payment and banking service providers
• IT, software and system providers
• cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
• communication and collaboration service providers
• professional advisers
• auditors or other professional service providers
• government authorities or regulatory bodies where required
• legal advisers or other parties where necessary to protect Read Hero’s legal rights

Read Hero will take reasonable steps to ensure that access to personal data is limited to persons who require it for authorised purposes.

Some of Read Hero’s technology, cloud, software or service providers may process or store personal data outside Malaysia.

Teachers are also responsible for protecting their own account credentials and devices and must promptly report any suspected security or privacy incident to Read Hero.

Read Hero will retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to:

• manage the Teacher’s engagement
• fulfil contractual or operational requirements
• comply with legal, accounting or regulatory obligations
• resolve disputes
• maintain appropriate business records
• protect Read Hero’s legitimate interests

When personal data is no longer required, Read Hero may delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it in accordance with applicable requirements and internal procedures.

10. Teacher’s Responsibilities

Teachers are responsible for ensuring that personal information provided to Read Hero is accurate and up to date.

Teachers must also:

• keep Read Hero account credentials secure
• not share account access with others
• protect student and parent/guardian information
• follow Read Hero security and privacy procedures
• promptly report suspected data breaches, unauthorised access or loss of personal data

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable Malaysian law, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including the right to:

• request access to personal data held by Read Hero
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, subject to applicable limitations
