Read Hero Teacher

1. Teacher Engagement

1.1 Your engagement with Read Hero is on a part-time basis with scheduled teaching commitments.

1.2 Although the engagement is part-time, the Teacher is expected to maintain a consistent and ongoing teaching commitment throughout the agreed engagement period.

1.3 The Teacher agrees to a minimum commitment period of twelve (12) months from the commencement of the Teacher’s active teaching engagement with Read Hero, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Read Hero.

1.4 Once the Teacher accepts and confirms a teaching schedule, class or session, the Teacher is expected to fulfil that commitment according to the confirmed schedule and applicable Read Hero SOPs.

1.5 The Teacher should only accept teaching schedules or sessions that they are able to commit to.

1.6 Read Hero may assign or adjust teaching schedules, classes or students based on operational requirements, student needs, teacher availability and other business considerations.

1.7 The number of classes or teaching sessions available to a Teacher may vary according to Read Hero’s operational requirements and student demand. Nothing in these Terms guarantees a minimum number of classes, sessions or income unless expressly agreed in writing.

2. Teacher Responsibilities

As a Read Hero Teacher, you agree to:

1. conduct all confirmed teaching sessions professionally and punctually
2. follow Read Hero’s teaching methodology, curriculum and teaching standards
3. comply with Read Hero’s applicable SOPs, policies and operational procedures
4. maintain accurate student attendance and progress records
5. complete required administrative and reporting tasks within the required timeline
6. communicate professionally and respectfully with students, parents/guardians and Read Hero staff
7. report student-related concerns, technical issues or operational matters through the appropriate Read Hero channels
8. attend required training, briefing, coaching, assessment or quality-control sessions when required by Read Hero; and
9. comply with reasonable operational instructions issued by Read Hero

3. Attandance & Teaching Commitment

3.1 Teachers are responsible for attending all confirmed teaching sessions on time.

3.2 If a Teacher is unable to conduct a confirmed session, the Teacher must notify Read Hero as soon as reasonably possible and follow the applicable leave, absence or replacement procedure.

3.3 Teachers must not independently arrange a replacement Teacher unless authorised by Read Hero.

3.4 Repeated lateness, absence, last-minute cancellation or no-show may result in corrective action, reduction or suspension of teaching assignments, or termination of the Teacher’s engagement.

3.5 Read Hero may reschedule or arrange a replacement Teacher where necessary to ensure continuity of service to students.

4. Teaching Quality & Performance

4.1 Teachers are expected to maintain the teaching standards established by Read Hero.

4.2 Read Hero may conduct quality-control activities including, where applicable:

• review of teaching sessions
• student progress monitoring
• attendance monitoring
• review of teaching records
• parent/student feedback
• teacher coaching and observation
• other reasonable quality-control measures

4.3 Teachers may be required to participate in coaching, retraining or corrective action where teaching quality or compliance does not meet Read Hero’s standards.

4.4 Read Hero may adjust teaching assignments based on student needs, teaching performance, availability and operational requirements.

5. Teacher Training

5.1 Teachers may be required to complete Read Hero’s prescribed training before or during their teaching engagement.

5.2 Training may include teacher onboarding, teaching methodology, system training, operational procedures, quality standards and other relevant training.

5.3 Completion of training does not guarantee a minimum number of teaching sessions or income.

5.4 Teachers are expected to apply the knowledge and methodology provided during training in accordance with Read Hero’s teaching standards.

6. Payment & Teaching Fees

6.1 Teachers will be paid according to the applicable teaching rate communicated or agreed by Read Hero.

6.2 Payment is based on completed and verified teaching sessions recorded in Read Hero’s applicable systems or records.

6.3 Teachers are responsible for ensuring that attendance, teaching session and other required records are accurately submitted.

6.4 Sessions that are not properly recorded, cancelled, missed or otherwise do not meet Read Hero’s applicable requirements may be subject to review before payment is processed.

6.5 The treatment of cancelled sessions, replacement sessions, late cancellations and other payment-related matters shall follow Read Hero’s applicable payment policy and SOP.

6.6 Read Hero may update teaching rates, payment procedures or related operational policies from time to time, subject to applicable agreements and applicable law.

7. Student & Parent/Guardian Relationship

7.1 Teachers must maintain professional boundaries when dealing with students and parents/guardians.

7.2 Student and parent/guardian information obtained through Read Hero may only be used for authorised Read Hero purposes.

7.3 Teachers must not use Read Hero’s student or parent/guardian relationships for personal business, private teaching or unauthorised services.

7.4 Teachers must not solicit, divert or encourage Read Hero students or parents/guardians to move to private teaching or another competing service using relationships or information obtained through Read Hero.

7.5 All communication with students and parents/guardians must comply with Read Hero’s applicable communication, safeguarding and operational policies.

8. Confidentiality & Intellectual

8.1 Teachers must comply with the Read Hero Teacher Non-Disclosure & Confidentiality Agreement (NDA).

8.2 All Read Hero curriculum, modules, teaching materials, Reading Mission Pack, training materials, SOPs, digital content, recordings, systems, branding and other proprietary materials remain the property of AM Eterna Sdn. Bhd. / Read Hero, unless otherwise stated in writing.

8.3 Teachers are only permitted to use Read Hero materials for authorised Read Hero teaching and training purposes.

8.4 Teachers must not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, upload, share or commercially exploit Read Hero materials without prior written authorisation.

8.5 Further confidentiality and intellectual property obligations are governed by the Read Hero NDA and applicable policies.

9. Read Hero System & Account

9.1 Teachers must use Read Hero’s systems, applications and platforms only for authorised Read Hero activities.

9.2 Teachers are responsible for keeping their account credentials secure and confidential.

9.3 Teachers must not share their login credentials or allow another person to access their account.

9.4 Teachers must immediately notify Read Hero of any suspected unauthorised access, security issue or misuse of their account.

9.5 Read Hero may suspend or restrict system access where reasonably required for security, operational, compliance or disciplinary purposes.

10. Professional Conduct

10.1 Teachers are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times.

10.2 The following may constitute a breach of these Terms:

• serious misconduct
• inappropriate behaviour towards students, parents/guardians or staff
• repeated failure to follow Read Hero SOPs
• repeated lateness, absence or no-show
• misuse of Read Hero systems or materials
• unauthorised disclosure of confidential information
• misuse of student or parent/guardian information
• unauthorised solicitation of students or parents/guardians
• falsification of attendance, teaching or payment records
• conduct that may materially damage Read Hero’s reputation, students or operations

11. Professional Teacher Kit

11.1 Where applicable, Teachers are required to comply with the Read Hero Professional Teacher Kit – Acknowledgement & Terms.

11.2 The Teacher Kit may include physical and digital teaching materials, training resources and other materials required for authorised teaching activities.

11.3 Teachers are responsible for taking reasonable care of reusable materials provided by Read Hero and returning them when required.

11.4 The Professional Teacher Kit fee and related terms are governed by the applicable Teacher Kit Acknowledgement & Terms.

12. Teacher Loyalty / Appreciation Teacher

12.1 Teachers who meet the applicable requirements may be considered for Read Hero’s Teacher Loyalty or Appreciation Programme.

12.2 Eligibility may include:

• minimum active teaching period
• satisfactory attendance and teaching performance
• compliance with Read Hero SOPs and policies
• completion of required teaching commitments
• no outstanding operational or administrative matters

12.3 Any loyalty or appreciation benefit is subject to the applicable programme terms and Read Hero’s management approval.

12.4 Loyalty or appreciation benefits are not guaranteed or automatic entitlements.

12.5 Read Hero may amend, suspend or discontinue any loyalty or appreciation programme from time to time.

13. Minimum Commitment & End of Engagement

13.1 The Teacher agrees to maintain a minimum engagement commitment of twelve (12) months from the commencement of the Teacher’s active teaching engagement with Read Hero.

13.2 If the Teacher wishes to end their teaching engagement, the Teacher must provide Read Hero with at least thirty (30) days’ written notice of their intention to end the engagement.

13.3 During the notice period, the Teacher remains responsible for fulfilling all confirmed teaching schedules and other applicable commitments, unless otherwise agreed by Read Hero.

13.4 The Teacher should not accept new teaching schedules or commitments that extend beyond their intended final date unless otherwise agreed with Read Hero.

13.5 Any request to end the engagement before completing the minimum twelve (12) month commitment should be communicated to Read Hero as soon as reasonably possible and may be subject to management review and applicable contractual or legal requirements.

13.6 Read Hero may, at its discretion, agree to waive or shorten the applicable commitment or notice period on a case-by-case basis.

14. Suspension & Termination

14.1 Read Hero may suspend teaching assignments or system access where reasonably necessary due to operational, quality-control, security, compliance or disciplinary concerns.

14.2 Read Hero may terminate the Teacher’s engagement in accordance with these Terms and applicable requirements.

14.3 Read Hero may terminate the Teacher’s engagement without requiring the full notice period where there is a serious breach of these Terms, the NDA, applicable SOPs or other Read Hero policies, subject to applicable law.

14.4 Serious breaches may include:

• serious misconduct involving a student, parent/guardian or staff member
• serious confidentiality or data breach
• misuse or unauthorised distribution of Read Hero materials
• falsification of records
• serious or repeated no-show
• unauthorised solicitation of Read Hero students or parents/guardians
• fraud or dishonesty
• conduct that causes serious harm to Read Hero, its students or its reputation

15. Obligation After Termination

When the Teacher’s engagement ends, the Teacher must:

1. stop representing themselves as an active Read Hero Teacher
2. cease using Read Hero systems and materials unless otherwise authorised
3. return applicable Read Hero property and reusable Teacher Kit materials
4. complete any required exit or administrative procedures
5. stop using student and parent/guardian information obtained through Read Hero
6. continue to comply with obligations that survive termination, including confidentiality, data protection and intellectual property obligations.

16. Privacy & Personal Data

16.1 Read Hero may collect, use, store and process Teacher personal data for purposes relating to teacher registration, administration, scheduling, payment, training, quality control, communication, compliance and other legitimate purposes.

16.2 The handling of Teacher personal data is governed by the Read Hero Teacher Privacy Policy.

16.3 Teachers must also comply with Read Hero’s requirements relating to the protection and handling of student and parent/guardian personal data.

17. Changes to Terms & Policies

17.1 Read Hero may update these Terms, SOPs and operational policies from time to time where reasonably required for business, operational, legal, security or service-quality purposes.

17.2 Where material changes are made, Read Hero may notify Teachers through the applicable communication channel.

17.3 The updated version will apply from the effective date stated by Read Hero, subject to applicable law and any applicable contractual requirements.

18. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

The Parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

19. Acknowledgement & Acceptance

By clicking “I Agree” / “Accept”, you confirm that:

• you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions
• you understand that your engagement with Read Hero is part-time with scheduled teaching commitments
• you understand and agree to the minimum twelve (12) month commitment
• you understand that confirmed teaching schedules constitute teaching commitments
• you understand that at least thirty (30) days’ written notice is required if you wish to end your teaching engagement;
• you agree to comply with Read Hero’s teaching, attendance and operational requirements
• you agree to comply with Read Hero’s NDA and Privacy Policy
• you agree to comply with the Professional Teacher Kit terms, where applicable
• you understand that failure to comply with these Terms may result in corrective action, suspension or termination of your teaching engagement
